In the forefront of the duo are Cécile Blumenbär´s silver sounds. For Baroque music, her silver flute, which for the later styles supplements her silvery voice.

She is complemented and supported by Chris Rowson on the digital harpsichord.

The harpsichord was a favourite instrument in  the Baroque era (c. 1620 to 1760). The most famous instruments were those built in Flanders by the Ruckers family. The sound of the Digital Harpsichord is a precise and painstaking reproduction of the  sound of one of these.

Thanks to the digital technology, the Rare Roses are now in a position to perform with the harpsichord without the otherwise inevitable problems of transport and tuning.

And jazz, rock and reggae take on fascinating  new aspects coloured by the shimmering tones of the harpsichord, for which the sustain pedal opens up exciting new possibilities!

Das Cembalo war ein beliebtes Instrument in der Barockzeit (ca. 1620-1760). Die berühmtesten Cembali waren die in Flandern gebauten Instrumente der Familie Ruckers. Der Klang des Digital Cembalo ist dem eines Ruckers detailgetreu nachgebildet.

Dank der digitalen Technologie sind die Rare Roses heute in der glücklichen Lage, mit dem Cembalo aufzutreten ohne die lästigen Stimm- und Transportprobleme.

Und Jazz, Rock oder Reggae mit dem Cembalo macht Spaß, es webt ein neues Kleid für die klassischen Jazzsongs, und mit dem Sustainpedal bekommt das alte Instrument nie gehörte Möglichkeiten!
